My name is Alicia Funes, and I am a bilingual, licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with eighteen years of experience in the mental health field. I fulfilled a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from New Mexico State University and a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My professional career entails treating clients in private practice, hospitals, schools, residential treatment centers, and home-based counseling.
Whether you are new to therapy or familiar with the process, you are ultimately courageous in taking the first step to self-discovery and contentment. My specialties include the treatment of Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Suicidality, and Post-Traumatic Stress.
My therapeutic orientation lends itself to the following; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Expressive therapy(art, music, writing, etc.), Positive Psychology, and Solution Focused therapy. Again, thank you for reaching out and prioritizing your mental, spiritual, and physical health. I look forward to meeting you.
