As a queer mixed-race South Asian and white person, I have long understood identity to be political and relational. I approach my work as a therapist from this community justice perspective, where I understand both trauma and healing to be rooted in the context in which we live. Many of us get the message that healing is an individual journey, but healing is a process that is made possible by building loving connection with ourselves and others.
My work as a therapist is grounded in unconditional respect. I show up with compassion for all the ways you adapted to your circumstances to survive and thrive even as we explore what pieces of your patterns no longer serve you. My work is informed by psychodynamic theory, trauma-informed therapies, internal family systems, and body-based healing modalities.
I work with everyone, but specialize in work with trauma, survivors of sexual violence, identity (especially with mixed-race people, Asian folks and people of color, and queer and trans community), and in support work with activists, students, and healers.
