| español My approach goes beyond traditional "talk therapy" in that I believe in targeting the root of disturbances that have become frozen in the body through the use of Brainspotting and other somatic approaches when working with individuals and families. I have experience with helping children, teenagers, and adults safely navigate through their differences while they strive to understand each other’s point of view through empathy and understanding. With families, I recognize the importance of embracing each parent's unique style of communication and parenting approach, while also considering the child's needs and learning style.
In working with trauma, I mostly utilize Brainspotting along with components of TF-CBT and somatic approaches such as Polyvagal Theory to help with self regulation. For families, I have a Foundational Theraplay Practitioner certification that allows me to help families utilize different components in working together.
Clients can expect a treatment experience where they are encouraged to talk as much or little as they feel comfortable about the issue or disturbance. I look forward to our journey of healing together. I offer sessions in both English and Spanish.
