Married 30 yrs with 5 children, we experienced marital conflict, cancer, substance abuse, co-dependency, anger, LD, giftedness, etc. Clinically I experienced: depression, child abuse, sexual abuse, substance abuse, divorce, loss, mood disorders, childhood illnesses, etc. The combination of life and clinical experiences form the basis of my ability to provide empathetic, compassionate care.
My view of the counseling process is that it is actually part of God's plan for sanctification and growth. Through grace, truth and time in the therapeutic relationship real change occurs. There is always hope.
