I've been on both sides of "the therapy couch" as a Survivor with Bipolar I Disorder & as a counselor. I completed my internship assisting Survivors of Domestic Violence & have a great deal of knowledge about Healthy Relationships vs Unhealthy ones. Life After Psychosis (LAP)
This is a Group I'm interested in CREATING in Buffalo. It would be a Support/Process Group for folks who have survived a psychotic episode & want to better understand their experience/modes of healing. The name "LAP" came to me when thinking about my own history of psychotic episodes as a survivor of Bipolar one disorder. The difficult reality has been "running laps" for the past 20+ years in order to stay healthy: psychiatric appointments, medication, bloodwork & therapy. I'd love to see a Support Group form around this topic so that we can better understand our daily existence.
