Hi! I’m Alexis. I am a mom, wife, adjunct professor, and therapist. When I am not working, I enjoy being surrounded by family. I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Kentucky and my Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Healthcare Studies from Ohio University. I am trauma informed and am trained in multiple trauma informed modalities including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Building a relationship in therapy is very important. I will work to create a safe, empathetic, and validating space to work together.
In the intake session, I will gather information regarding past history, challenges, barriers, strengths, and what brings you to therapy with me. We will determine together a treatment plan and goals in which you identify you want to work on. My goal is to create a safe environment for clients to feel heard, supported, and challenged.
As a therapist trained in EMDR, I bring more than just a technique—I offer a trauma-informed, compassionate space where healing happens at your pace. I combine EMDR with empathy, insight, and a deep understanding of how trauma lives in both the mind and body. What makes me different is my ability to integrate EMDR into a broader, personalized approach.
