Hello. I am Alexis and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Work practicing in Virginia. I have over twenty years of experience working with clients of all ages in a wide range of settings including: inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, outpatient care, in-home, school and residential. Most of my experience has been working with individuals who struggle with grief, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, Autism Spectrum, PTSD, developmental and intellectual disabilities, abuse, trauma and major life changes.
My approach to therapy is humanistic in nature and combines cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and mindfulness, while engaging in a client-centered, collaborative approach. Developing an effective client/therapist relationship is the foundation for supporting clients to discover their strengths, gain insight and develop healthy coping mechanisms
