Therapy is a place where you can work to achieve personal goals of growth and awareness, process difficult experiences from your past, and learn to cope with current stressors. As a systemic therapist, I consider the functioning of your internal systems, such as your autonomic nervous system, as well as your external systems, including your network of relationships with partners, family, friends, medical providers, and others. Whether you are looking for individual, couple, or family therapy, your ability to regulate internally, your family of origin, and your current relationships can all play a role in your overall wellbeing.
I am trained in models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gottman Method, Narrative Therapy, and Medical Family Therapy (MedFT). My research experience in emotion regulation, mindfulness, psychophysiology, Polyvagal Theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology also informs my holistic biopsychosocial approach.
Asking for help can be a difficult task, especially for those who need it most. I offer an empathetic and nonjudgemental environment where we can move at a pace that works for you. Please feel free to call for a consultation to see if we are a good fit. I am happy to answer any questions about what to expect before scheduling an appointment.
