Life tends to pile on, and sometimes the stress becomes overwhelming. We question everything, especially when the hurts from our past feel like a heavy shroud over our happiness and what we hope to accomplish. As an EMDR Certified therapist and Certified Perinatal Mental Health professional, I tend to see people during the most vulnerable periods of their lives. I take a trauma-informed approach focused on understanding what has happened, how it is impacting you now, and how we can work through it together. Healing is possible, and you are not alone.
My primary treatment modality is EMDR, a therapy which helps heal the parts of your brain that have been injured by toxic stress, and allows you to develop a new and healthier outlook. In 2018, I completed additional consultation and training in advanced EMDR techniques to achieve the status of certified EMDR therapist through EMDR International Association.
I chose to seek certification in perinatal mental health to better serve clients seeking care from the family planning stage through the post-partum period, including perinatal mental health concerns. Sometimes this includes the deep pain associated with infertility, pregnancy loss or other complications. You are not alone. It is OK to accept help.
