Life tends to pile on, and sometimes the stress gets to the point where it just feels toxic. We question everything, especially when the hurts from our past feel like they're a heavy shroud over our happiness and what we hope to accomplish. I firmly believe that it doesn't have to be this way; that healing and meeting whatever goals you set for your overall well-being can be possible with the right kind of support. I work from the perspective of 'what has happened to lead to this problem, and how can we work through it together?'
My primary treatment modality is EMDR, a therapy which helps heal the parts of your brain that have been injured by toxic stress, and allows you to develop a new and healthier outlook. In 2018, I completed additional consultation and training in advanced EMDR techniques to achieve the status of certified EMDR therapist through EMDR International Association.
I chose to seek certification in perinatal mental health to better serve clients seeking care from the family planning stage through the post-partum period, including perinatal mental health concerns. Sometimes this includes the deep pain associated with infertility, pregnancy loss or other complications. You are not alone. It is OK to accept help.
