We seek help when our way of relating to ourselves and others is no longer working for us. It can be daunting to look outside of ourselves to gain an understanding of something so personal, but taking this step offers the opportunity to cultivate powerful tools for adaptation, self-regulation and productive relationships. The tools that I use come from Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems Therapy. These therapeutic modalities help us reach the mind, body, and heart, offering a holistic path to transformational change.
Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems therapy are experiential modalities that help us create space to be with what is inside of us. As we learn to hold what we typically avoid, change occurs. Psychodynamic work contextualizes the new learning that experiential work brings, shedding light on our early-life adaptations and present day patterns.
