My work as a therapist is focused on helping autistic folks live the lives they desire. Whether you were diagnosed as a child, or made it through to adulthood only now discovering your neurodivergence, being autistic presents challenges. Inherent differences in communication as well as cognitive and sensory processing require you to navigate sometimes perplexing, frustrating, and frankly exhausting world that is designed for neurotypicals.
I help individuals and neurodiverse couples (i.e. one or both partners are autistic) to find clarity, understanding, and acceptance; both about themselves and about their environment.
Whether a couple or an individual, my approach helps clients develop a greater awareness of their fundamental needs: for emotional safety, for meaning, for connection, and for hope. From there we can begin working out what is getting in the way and develop strategies to address those needs.
