I am a white, genderqueer therapist who works with LGBTQIA+ teens and adults of various relationship styles, ethnicities, and spiritual backgrounds. I specialize in navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relational conflict, sexual identity, and gender identity. I believe that therapy is inherently political and should include discussions about a client's racial, environmental, and cultural strengths and stressors. My approach is trauma-informed, consent-based, and incorporates a social-justice framework. Additionally, I am EMDR-trained and I offer free consultations and letters for gender-affirming care.
My counseling style is a blend of somatics, mindfulness, systems, and person-centered therapy. Basically, this means we talk about how it feels to live in your body as much as how it feels to live your life. Moving into body-based work can feel uncomfortable and scary, but is often the next step for folks who aren't getting what they need from talk therapy.
Therapy, at its core, is collaborative. You and I are two humans with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and beliefs; working together to establish a direction for therapy aligning with YOUR goals and evolving needs.
