I am a white, genderqueer therapist who works with LGBTQIA+ adults and teens. I specialize in betrayal and grief work, relational conflict and separation, and sexual and gender identity exploration. I believe that therapy is inherently political and should include discussions about a client's racial, environmental, and cultural strengths and stressors. My approach is trauma-informed, consent-based, anti-racist, and social justice-oriented. Likewise, I am EMDR-trained, proficient in IFS techniques, and offer free consultations and letters for gender-affirming care.
My counseling style is a blend of somatic mindfulness, parts work, and person-centered therapy. Basically, this means we talk about how it feels to live in your body as much as how it feels to live your life. Moving into body-based work can feel uncomfortable and scary, but is often the next step for folks who aren't getting what they need from talk therapy.
Therapy, at its core, is collaborative. You and I are two humans with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and beliefs; working together to establish a direction for therapy aligning with YOUR goals and evolving needs.
