Hello there! I’m Alex McDuffie, and I’m a licensed counselor experienced in working with a variety of populations who have lived through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, crisis, and difficulty adjusting to life experiences. My career has led me to work in outpatient, inpatient, and day treatment settings with children, teens, and adults. It has been an honor to walk alongside others in their journeys to healing, and my hope is that I can continue to learn and grow to further support our communities.
It's so important that clients feel accepted and valued in the counseling space. In our work, I offer openness, curiosity, sincerity, and safety, while also being unafraid to be direct, challenge, and encourage folks to step outside of their comfort zones. I use EMDR, TF-CBT, mindfulness, expressive art, and person-centered skills in my work with clients.
Ultimately, I believe that people are the experts of themselves and am passionate in supporting people in meeting their goals, extending grace to themselves, and reminding them that they do in fact matter. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our work together!
