Alejandra Landavazo, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My approach to therapy is a collaborative one. I see clients as the agents of change in their own lives and take a supportive role in developing and formulating a vision of where clients see themselves. I like to collaborate with clients in determining motives for initiating therapy. I like to support clients in developing and formulating short-term and long-term goals during our work together. I initiate goal discussion at intake and expand during future therapy sessions to formulate an appropriate treatment plan.
I enjoy working with adult women, particularly from Hispanic or Latinx communities that are affected by conditions including generational trauma and first-generation immigration. Some of the conditions I am most comfortable treating include anxiety, depression, trauma-induced conditions, and stressors related to work, relationships, or family.
I invite clients into an atmosphere of calmness and safety where they feel understood and accepted no matter what is shared in the therapy room. I engage in non-judgmental listening and provide empathic communication during interactions with clients.
