I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I specialize in couples who are seeking marriage enrichment, or trying to overcome difficulties in their relationships, or learning how to connect emotionally. I also work with individuals. My goal is to help clients in their struggles, which will help them reach their full potential in society. I know that life is a journey and sometimes we can get stuck in life. I provide a safe environment where the clients can learn and work on coping skills, so they will feel empowered in life. I focus on goals that the clients want to work on without feeling judged.

As a dually licensed professional counselor and clinical addiction specialist, I have been in practice for over twenty-five years. My strengths include providing warmth, compassion and connection. I have worked with a wide range of adult challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma psychosis and substance abuse.

At certain points in life, we all need support. Change is possible! As long as there is life, there is hope! Whether faced with a disappoint, daily stress, relationship conflict, addictive behavior, past trauma, or depression and anxiety, we all need help at times. It would be an honored to work with you on your mental health journey. My experiences have taught me empathy, compassion and curiosity when exploring ways to reduce stress and anxiety. Together we can safely approach the thoughts, feelings and sensations moving within the body. I use evidence-based therapy models like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and CBT to help clients safely move toward change. I focus on the strengths and needs of the client. By working collaboratively you are able to feel empowered in your life. Together healing is possible.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina and a Master's of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My education and experience has prepared me to counsel individuals, groups, children, adults, and adolescents.

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am deeply committed to assisting people with recovery in all of its guises, including depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, environmental stresses, issues faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community, and trauma.

We all face challenges and crises in our lives and sometimes they can be too much to handle alone. Whether it is a specific event or a chronic illness, I think by facilitating emotional resilience I can help you overcome those challenges and life stressors. From marriage/intimacy, addiction and substance abuse, adolescent behavioral and mental health issues, trauma and other adverse childhood experiences - there are not many issues I have not encountered. I believe we all possess the ability to make positive, sustainable change and I take pride in working together, along side you to find a harmonious balance in your life.

There are places inside we would rather hide from, places we may have failed or lacked courage, experienced a trauma or deep pain. You can’t go there alone. You need a place where you can work through it all. In our sessions we will build an alliance to dig deeper into who you are and find insight for new perspective and renewed strength.
