Making the decision to pursue therapy can be a complex one. Whether it's better understanding your relationship with substances, tolerating a difficult life situation, striving for balance, or if the goal is self-exploration and the issues have been longstanding, the journey of psychotherapy can be an opportunity to grow. Building strengths in a safe, supportive partnership can pave way towards living a more satisfying life. Many people I work with are intelligent, creative, and accomplished individuals struggling with substances, who believe they would benefit from working with someone to explore and resolve such issues in service of thriving.
My style is interactive and warm; My approach active, motivational, collaborative. I utilize psychodynamic theory and evidence based treatments, helping people develop awareness and concrete skills/strategies to manage issues which cause them to feel "stuck." I often work with people struggling with addictions, mood, self-esteem, relationship, career issues.
I have extensive training in treating individuals and family members/partners of loved ones struggling with substance misuse disorders. I also served as 2017 President for NYSPA Division on Addictions. Life can be more than just getting through the day. Together, we can work to create a life worth living.
