I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an office in Garden City. I work interactively with adults suffering from depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I also work with couples who are striving to improve their relationship.

I provide individual, couples, and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults who present with a wide range of challenges and therapy goals. My goal as a counselor is to provide clients with a safe space to share their concerns, struggles, and difficulties, and work towards goals of happiness, stability, and serenity. A main focus of my work is to help each client to achieve a connection between mind, body, and soul; to reach a sense and feeling of peace in the present moment. Sometimes, this includes healing wounds of the past. I firmly believe in meeting the client where they are at, and working together, step-by-step, on moving forward.

Choosing which therapist is right for you can be a tough decision, so to help, here's a little bit about me. I'm warm, compassionate, and intuitive, setting up an environment that is comfortable and non-judgmental. Together we will work to explore and process concerns. As this happens, we are able to peel layers and gain insight into these issues so that you can understand what needs to be done to create effective change .

My belief is that each client is unique, and therefore no single style of treatment can be utilized for every situation. Having over twenty-three years working in the fields of mental health and substance abuse, I believe in empowering people to develop and achieve their personal goals rather than dictating the course of treatment for them. Every individual comes to therapy with the hope of making some positive change. I give them the tools they need to make this possible. As a child of Indo-Caribbean immigrants, I am uniquely positioned to offer support to folks who exist in the in-betweens of cultures and lineages. My work is rooted in an understanding of systemic oppression; I strongly believe that it is not possible to consider healing outside the context of our external realities. Nonetheless, I believe in helping folks find strength through a connection to the endurance of their lineages, within themselves and their relations, and through their spirituality.
