As someone who wants to change the world, I chose the counseling profession because I came to believe the best way to facilitate that change is by helping individuals, marriages, and families become fully healthy emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually.

I specialize in working with clients who are trying to manage their lives while dealing with addictions, ADHD, depression, and anxiety. I work to help these clients minimize the impact these disorders have on their day-to-day, while also working with them to reduce shame they may feel because of their mental health.

People seek me out because they find their current situation intolerable - they are sick and tired of experiencing shame, intense anger, depression and anxiety. Perhaps they want to work on their addiction - the thing they use to numb the painful experiences. Their relationships are suffering as a result of their behaviors, being closed off, or "too much" for others. Many struggle with feelings of inadequacy, perfectionism and a deep sense of futility, which prevents them from taking charge of their lives and confidently pursuing their heart's desire.

You are not alone if you have felt more anxious, stressed, and burnt out these past few years. Losses, social isolation, family tensions, work fatigue, and uncertainty have created an imbalance in our lives, decreasing our overall wellness - from depression, anxiety, and poor attention to unhealthy relationships with substances and ourselves.

Parsons Counseling offers services for ALL ages. We have three counselors working in Richmond to serve your counseling needs: Brittany Wilson, LPCC, Laura Weitkamp, LPCC, RPT, Taylor Speaks, LPCC, and Taylor Crisler LPCA. We understand that it is difficult to go to a stranger and talk about the most difficult times in your life. It is our desire that counseling is a process that is comfortable for you. My practice focuses primarily on individuals and couples who are dealing with traumas, addictions and communication issues. I give my patients the support to sort through the racket in their heads and find clarity. Many times emotional issues stem from events in our lives which have been either buried or minimized. I help my patients explore these events in order to identify the old beliefs and ideas that created disfunctional coping mechanisms. Once identified, these old ideas and beliefs can be replaced with new healthier ones.

I enjoy helping my clients move towards their goals by lessening their distress and discomfort. I provide my clients with a warm, nonjudgmental environment in order to safely explore issues that may be preventing them from living the life they want. The majority of my experience has been working with those struggling in addiction and working towards a recovered lifestyle.

We accept clients that are interested in making personal changes in their behavior that will benefit their quality of life. We believe that people are able to make changes that are necessary to meet their goals.

Cassandra D. Harris-Gray is the CEO of Creative Spirits Networks, INC a full serviced outpatient mental health corporation. Cassandra is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist(LMFT), Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor(LCADC), and Mental Health Coach. I work with clients utilizing strength based competences to promote and navigate through life changes. She has authored her first book "90 Days of Power" and has served as a monthly columnist, a motivational speaker, corporate trainer and relationship seminar leader. She has over 20 plus years of clinical practice working with clients to create change.
