Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology, as well earned my masters in the clinical track of Master's in Social Work at the University of Kentucky. I have a certification in the cognate area of study in Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH). I have experience working with individuals whom are struggling with a variety of mental and behavioral health concerns, as well with the substance use population. I have a past experience working in in-patient and out-patient treatment care.

You are not alone if you have felt more anxious, stressed, and burnt out these past few years. Losses, social isolation, family tensions, work fatigue, and uncertainty have created an imbalance in our lives, decreasing our overall wellness - from depression, anxiety, and poor attention to unhealthy relationships with substances and ourselves.

I want to help you make meaningful and lasting changes in order to improve your quality of life. I enjoy working with adults who seek to deeper understand themselves and wish to gain increased self awareness. I also enjoy treating other therapists!

December 2023- Short wait-list for new clients, 4-6 weeks. Appointments are T, W, Th during the day. Life can be challenging and therapy can be an important support during times of uncertainty and change. I enjoy working with clients to increase awareness of their strengths and develop skills for coping with challenges. I welcome and have worked with individuals from a variety of different backgrounds, including clients from other countries and cultures, Black clients and other people of color and LGBTQ+ clients.

Danville Counseling Center is dedicated to serving the emotional and mental health needs in our community. Our office is located in downtown Danville and houses ten qualified mental health professionals. Our staff specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, addiction and helping you recover from traumatic experiences through the use of progressive treatments including EMDR and TF-CBT. At Danville Counseling we believe in treating the whole person by coming to understand the stressors that are taking place and helping you build resiliency and coping skills to improve overall wellness.

My focus in counseling is to help people find what barriers they have preventing them from living the life they hope for. Everyone has their own unique situations and concerns they are facing, and once we identify these, we can work together to find better ways for you to cope and move forward from the sources of pain and stress. Whether it is addiction, harmful eating habits, mental health concerns, or issues related to sexuality and gender identity, my goal is to create a safe space where you can address any life issues or concerns without judgement and for us to work together on your journey towards healing.

Many of my clients have struggled with various forms of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions and past trauma. Many of my clients have been women of color navigating challenges with family, work, grief, parenting and relationships, while attempting to cope with the stressors that come with these roles. Elyse is a Clinical Social Worker with an extensive background in research, education, and direct-practice within both residential and out-patient settings. Her experience adeptly serving teen and adult populations guides her aim to meet client needs by utilizing evidence-based therapies. Elyse earned her Masters at the University of Kentucky in 2016. Previously working for the Center on Drug and Alcohol Research at the College of Medicine, she returned as an instructor for the Advanced Standing Graduate Program at the College of Social Work in 2021, in addition to offering individual therapy at the Kentucky Services Wellness Group.
