My ideal client has co-occurring issues. I have treated individuals with both mental health issues, trauma and addictions. One can't get well if both issues aren't addressed as both are primary. I find that this approach is successful in healing the mind and body.

I am accepting new clients as of April 1, 2024. With over 30 years working in this field, I am adept at working with people experiencing a range of challenges in their lives. Expert in helping those struggling with life’s losses, traumas, and unexpected or expected changes. Specialization in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction, as well as bipolar disorders and psychosis type experiences. I hold LCSW licensure in both Georgia and NY states, enabling me to offer telehealth sessions to people in both states. Clinical supervision for LCSW and LPC candidates also provided.

Most individuals seeks counseling services because they struggle with their relationships, occupational stress, mood, and/or situational challenges and either need to develop new coping strategies, or access resources they already possess to resolve their challenges. No one said life was going to be easy. We go through challenging situations in life when you feel like the weight of the world is trying to overtake you. There's nothing wrong with seeking out additional support and assistance when these difficult times occur. Self-awareness is the key element one needs to possess in knowing when help is needed. I use a strengths based, family/individual centered, solution focused approach to providing therapy. I believe that everyone can improve their situation if they want to, and structure my sessions so that the you and I work as a team to navigate through various issues and hopefully arrive at a place where you are comfortable to move on without therapy.

Navigating the aftermath of trauma is a complex and deeply personal journey, marked by resilience and healing. However, it's also marked by grief. It involves acknowledging the pain, allowing oneself to grieve, and seeking support.

You are NOT alone. We are all all survivors constantly adapting to overcome whatever obstacles we face. It can get confusing, knowing which way to go, so we use unhealthy ways to escape at times. This is where I hope to be of some help. The last 7 years have been filled with meeting those hurt, fearful, & imprisoned during some of their darkest times. It is the most fulfilling thing to see someone see themselves in a new light... to be free of the past with motivation for the future. My aim is to help my clients identify the path they are on, where they want to be, and us build the skills needed to reach their goals.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, I have specialized exposure in problem areas to include intimate relationships, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, death and dying and unresolved trauma. I particularly enjoy working with teenagers and adults, military/veterans and their families. While I am a Christian counselor, I’ll always meet you where you are in your spiritual journey.

Educated and trained at Rutgers, Harvard, Savannah State, and the University of Pennsylvania, Michael Mack started his career over 25 years ago at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, where he focused in Structural Family Therapy (SFT) developed by Salvador Minuchin, a pioneer in child and adolescent therapy. In addition, he has been trained by the Beck Institute and Linehan Institute/Behavioral Tech in evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
