The work I do and journey I assist my clients on takes a holistic approach to tailor specific needs by combining different modalities to manage symptoms and promote healing. I work with all ages. I've gained significant experience in family/child welfare and foster care; abuse; domestic violence; neglect; PTSD; developmental disabilities; ASD; ADHD; parent training; systemic family therapy; substance abuse; depression; anxiety; bipolar; co-morbidity; and narcissistic personality disorder. I also examined the benefits of using mindfulness techniques during sport performances in order to achieve one's optimal potential.

Trauma is linked to anxiety, depression, and relationship problems (Bessel, 2021). We tend to think that trauma only happens to war veterans or victims of assault. However, being raised in an unpredictable home, difficult relationship with parents, or exposed to stress etc. can have a life-long impact. People can feel hesitant about seeking treatment for trauma because it can open a door to feeling overwhelmed. However, this is not the case with the therapy I provide, Somatic Experiencing, a therapy that takes years to be trained on.

Anna Marchenko is a licensed mental health counselor with specialized training in trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addiction, family counseling, and hypnotherapy. She earned her double Master's degree from Columbia University, New York. She continued her post-graduate education at International Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital and CSEDNY of NY before going into full-time private practice. She provides psychotherapy in a variety of areas, including stress, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, adjustment, performance psychology, creative and work blocks, sexuality, and interpersonal issues.

I am a Licensed Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst with expertise in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, behavioral medicine, and applied behavior analysis. My combined experience has contributed positively to my diagnostic and treatment skills; particularly in the areas of autism, dementia, health-related psychological conditions, depression, anxiety, employment/academic problems, grief, parenting issues, attention/memory problems, adolescent-parent conflicts, divorce, etc. I treat people of all ages.
