My name is Christian Romero, I have been in the field of psychology for over 20 years. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach to therapy is building a strong therapeutic relationship that allows individuals to process, heal and make safer healthier choices for themselves and their families. I have experience working with adults and children from ages 8-59 y.o. experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approaches are CBT, Solution Focused, Strength-Based, and Client-Centered.

I am an experienced bilingual clinician who works with adolescents, adults, couples and families dealing with a variety of mental health issues. I utilize a number of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, clinical hypnosis and hypnotically-facilitated psychotherapy. My areas of specialization include addiction, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, grief/loss, and bipolar disorder. My life experience has given me broad exposure to divorce, blended families, bi-cultural families, midlife career changes, families with special needs members, special needs advocacy, and sports performance.

As a trauma-informed systemic therapist, I take a collaborative and humanistic approach as I provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. To better understand an individual's worldview, meeting them where they are, understanding their perspectives, and presenting issues that have brought them to seek therapy is vital. Connecting with people through a humanistic approach allows us to comprehend one another through fundamental connections we share, such as emotions and sensations. Through collaboration and authenticity, I utilize myself as a tool through dynamic conversations and applying skills to encourage change.

Childcare is provided during your session. Bring the kids to spend time at our Kid's Room, while you get treatment from our therapists. All of our therapists hold a minimum of a master's degree in a psychology-related field that qualifies them with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) to provide counseling/therapy in California. Sessions are available in-person as well as online via telehealth. We are accepting new clients now and can get you an appointment within 2-3 days. Michael has a group practice currently available for phone and video sessions. Michael and his therapists use evidence-based, humanistic, cognitive behavioral and eclectic treatments for depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, substance use disorders, adolescent turmoil, trauma, transitions, grief, self esteem, and other life challenges. The team enjoys working with adults, adolescents and couples. I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California.
