I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.

In these challenging times, with the uncertainties ahead, and constant changes, we offer both phone and video sessions (HIPAA compliant) and provide all paperwork, payment, scheduling, and check-ins online (in-person contact is not required). In-person sessions are available for those who prefer them, in a socially distance and safe space, complying with all governmental requirements. To start, we can provide a 15-20 minute free consultation to answer any questions and/or determine if our services are a good fit for you!

Family Time centers are community hubs where everyone can get the help or support they need. They can tap into community resources, learn new parenting skills, and/or get individualized support. We provide a location where challenges can be explored and personal relationships can be strengthened. If you or someone in your family is struggling, we have expert therapists who can help a parent or a child receive the counseling they need. I am the founder & clinical director of ADAPT Therapy Centers, Inc. (c.1987). My specialties include a treatment of mood disorders (depression, anxiety/panic, bi-polar disorder) & addiciton. Throughout my 30 year career, I have run hundreds of psychodrama, multi-family, & cognitive therapy groups at various SoCal hospitals . I have been a professor in the Psychology Dept. at Mount Saint Mary's College & a member of the Board of Directors for the National Council of Alcoholism & Drug Addiction, Los Angeles Chapter. I have also served as Clinical Director at The Pasadena Recovery Center & co-hosted "Shrink Wrap" on KCSN-FM.

There is really no issue to big or too small to bring to therapy. I have seen people go through so much positive change because of their work in therapy and think it is such an awesome process. EVENING APPTS. I chose a PhD in Clinical Psychology in order to help individuals suffering with the emotional pain and upheaval that life's ups and downs can bring. I enjoy a close working relationship and collaborative trust based connection with my patients, which brings the reward of personal growth and stimulates the healing process. With more than 28 years in the mental health profession, and 25+ years in private practice, I continue working to expand my education and experience to include a wide variety of psychotherapeutical skill sets.

I provide comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (adults & adolescents) experiencing emotional dysregulation, strained relationships, overwhelming suffering (w/wo diagnosis of BPD), and/or thoughts of suicide or self-harm. My frame is client-centered, believing that you are the expert of your life, & therapy is a collaborate effort. I also work extensively within the Trans*/Nonbinary community, supporting an affirmed life for you and those around you.
