My work has been targeted towards helping folx in marginalized communities. I worked to ensure inclusive and equitable practices in work and school spaces. My clinical journey started during grad school when I began working with a diverse group of adults who had eating disorders. Alongside eating disorders, I also worked with individuals who struggled with substance use, trauma, and other mood disorders.

I have have a lot of experience with anxiety, depression and OCD, as well as helping people with big life changes, self esteem, and relationship issues. Everybody is different, so in working together I will listen to you and what you need from me to help you the best. A big reason I decided to become a therapist due to the belief that if people are more connected and insightful about themselves—and how they impact the world—the world itself will become a better place.

I know finding the right therapist can be a daunting task. I hope to make that easier. I pride myself on my ability to work with persons in a supportive and encouraging setting. I strongly believe in each persons potential and ability to make changes and create happiness. I hold a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology and will meet you at 1st Priority Institute for Better Living where the atmosphere is cheerful and hopeful; optimistic for a better tomorrow:).

Additionally, I have a deep understanding of trauma and its impact on mental health, and I offer specialized support to those who have experienced traumatic events. I also have expertise in working with individuals who are struggling with self-esteem and self-confidence issues, as well as those who are looking to enhance their personal growth and develop a more positive self-image.

Tammy brings a rich background of specialties to our practice from Substance Use Disorder, Addiction, Child & Family therapy, and Victim Advocacy. Tammy uses a holistic approach to therapeutic intervention. As a seasoned practitioner, she is adept at navigating complex familial dynamics, offering a safe haven for individuals and families grappling with addiction and trauma.

Birgitta Kieckhaben uses an integrative approach of various modalities, focusing on the individual client’s needs. Modalities include Equine Assisted Mental Health (EAMH), Somatic Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (CBT, DBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Birgitta has a nursing background and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy experience for twenty-plus years with neurological, mental, and geriatric disorders. She has a keen interest in Native American studies, Genocide, intergenerational trauma and healing, and addiction. Her approach is trauma and social justice informed.
