Trauma is linked to anxiety, depression, and relationship problems (Bessel, 2021). We tend to think that trauma only happens to war veterans or victims of assault. However, being raised in an unpredictable home, difficult relationship with parents, or exposed to stress etc. can have a life-long impact. People can feel hesitant about seeking treatment for trauma because it can open a door to feeling overwhelmed. However, this is not the case with the therapy I provide, Somatic Experiencing, a therapy that takes years to be trained on.

The Center for Individual and Family Counseling (CIFC) is a community mental health center that provides comprehensive outpatient counseling services to families, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Our goal is to assist individuals in verbalizing and processing their issues, emotions, feelings, addictions, and more regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or religion. We seek to assist those individuals who are in need of mental health services in order to improve their quality of life. We speak English and Spanish. CIFC offers individual, family, and couples counseling.

Welcome to the first step in your healing journey! I am a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in trauma, addiction, emotional concerns, & phobias. I use a collaborative, empathic, strengths-based approach to my practice. I am trained in EMDR, or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy, which assists clients take control over past traumatic memories and reprocess them in a more positive lens. EMDR is proven to be effective for a wide range of concerns. (Please note: only accepting virtual clients at this time; waiting list for in person clients.)

I am clinically trained to work with individuals experiencing a variety of different issues, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD and men's issues. During the therapeutic process we explore thoughts and behaviors that impact the client's mood, lifestyle, and help develop appropriate skills to improve daily experiences.

As a trained Counselor and registered Behavioral Technician and Mental Health Case Manager, I am ready to help you make positive changes during times of complexity by focusing on leveraging your own strengths. I provide a wide range of therapeutic services, ranging from anxiety, depression, grief, loss, marital/relational problems, divorce, and career issues. My Master's degree in Counseling has equipped me to ensure we can work together and focus on your strengths to reach your desire solutions.
