I specialize in working with people or loved ones of those who have experienced major medical injuries (stroke, neurological conditions, spinal cord injury, cardiac surgeries), people in all stages of recovery from substances, and anxiety.

This isn’t about a ‘failure to launch’ – not really. This is more about a failure to fail. Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got the idea stuck in our heads exactly what it means to succeed. The prospect of falling short of that ideal got so damn overwhelming, that we decided to side step trying just to avoid coming up short. Our program is about trudging through that concept. About doing the things. About learning through the evidence of your own experience. It’s about what comes next. When you think you’re ready, give us a shout. Hi, I am Dr. Nicole. Have you ever felt like no one understood what you are dealing with? Life can be an up and down hill battle at times. I have felt this way often and sought help, when I knew, it was much needed to move forward. Being stuck is no fun, but it is a place we all see and seek help to get to the other side. I use a holistic approach to help you delve into what you already have to move along the road to recovery. My substance use background as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate is in place to take you by your hand and assist you in a safe space.

Not all therapists are alike and choosing one can be a challenge. Therapists practice in all sorts of ways and use all sorts of methods. I offer talk therapy. It’s just like it sounds. You talk and I listen to you. Essentially, our objective is to study your mind. On your own terms and at your own pace, you offer the study material. I am interested to know what makes you who you are. Hopefully you are interested in that too and if so, we are already on the same wavelength.

Our clinician-founded and operated recovery center offers a mindfulness-based, comprehensive, evidence based, and integrative approach to recovery. We give you the individual attention you deserve; you are truly seen and heard on an individual level. When it comes to addiction treatment we strongly believe in the value of quality over quantity. Therefore we have intentionally created our program to be a small, client focused program treating only 16 individuals at a time. We offer Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient levels of care.

Wholeness leads to healing. I guide my clients to accept all parts of themselves and find balance in their lives. I entered the field of counseling with a passion for treating trauma (big T and little t trauma). Along the way I gathered some exceptional tools for doing so, including EMDR and a somatic approach to psychotherapy. Not so far removed from trauma, I have also developed a specialty in treating addiction of all kinds. I have seen the power of emotional healing to transform people's lives in ways they always wanted but didn't know how. I am here to help whenever the client is ready to do that brave and powerful work.

Practicing in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Colorado, I work with adolescents and adults seeking a way towards brave and engaged living, working through challenges that get in the way. My belief is that at our core we are fearless, clear, and compassionate. In therapy we work together to identify what is blocking you from that core, and set about clearing the way for your authentic self to emerge. I have worked over 30 years in mental health, 25+ years as a licensed clinician. I also bring experience of training and supporting clinicians, most recently as the CEO of a wilderness therapy program.

I am an integrative therapist focused on healing the split associated with trauma. Trauma can disconnect you from your authenticity and power, creating a misalignment in your mind-body and spirit. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Inner Counselor are two highly effective approaches used for healing. I see clients with panic disorder and depression, sexual abuse, abusive relationships, codependency and self-esteem issues and more. Bringing health and balance back around areas that have become compulsions (eating, sex, alcohol, relationships, etc.) is another important part of this personal healing journey.
