I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Reaching out for support often comes during a time of crisis or after living for many years with the weight emotional pain. Bringing people from crisis to hope is the forefront of my practice. The lack of access to quality mental health care for persons of color is real, and mental health needs are at times unmet. My cultural competence through life experience has allowed me to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in work with those impacted by depression, trauma, substance abuse, suicide, anxiety, sexual assault, sexual abuse, life-transitions, and interpersonal relationship challenges. I am currently trained in Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, Trauma Informed, End of Life Care, and Emotion Focused Therapies.
A good therapist offers knowledge to make life be more of what you what it be. I hold a Master of Social Work, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University. I have 10+ years of experience in the field helping individuals and families find healing in their uncertain situations.
