Hello and thank you for your interest in learning about my approach to psychotherapy and counseling! My name is Alan Cyr and I am passionate about helping others find the health, happiness, and the success that they are seeking in their lives. Whether you are looking to make positive changes in your life, reduce or eliminate unpleasant mental health symptoms, learn healthier coping strategies, and/or develop healthier interpersonal relationships, I would be honored to accompany you on your journey.
My specialties include helping youth, adults, and couples with mood disorders, breaking the cycle of self-defeating behaviors, relationship problems, recovery from trauma, and better managing stress. I use an integrative and holistic approach which evalutes lifestyle factors (such as nutrition and exercise), as well as personal beliefs and values.
I have a warm, open, and non-judgmental style. My goal is to help my clients feel safe and supported while they provide themselves the space and time they need to explore and heal, while practicing new strategies for growth. I like to keep conversations practical and solution-based while honoring the priorities of each client, each session.
