Patterns involving pornography, sexual behavior, or substance use can bring a lot of shame, confusion, and internal conflict. Sometimes the concern is obvious; other times it’s more of a lingering sense that something feels off or out of alignment with personal values. It doesn’t have to reach the level of “rock bottom” to deserve attention.
My work focuses on adults navigating compulsive sexual behavior and substance use from a non-shaming, values-based perspective. Therapy often involves exploring what the behavior provides, what keeps the cycle going, and how to move toward greater self-understanding, honesty, and stability.
I use an existential and person-centered approach to explore freedom, choice, responsibility, and meaning, particularly when behavior feels out of alignment with your values. Therapy goes beyond managing symptoms to build insight, self-trust, and more intentional ways of coping with stress, urges, and emotional pain.
Whether the impact is personal, relational, or both, these struggles do not have to be navigated alone. Therapy can provide a steady, compassionate space to better understand what’s happening, explore underlying patterns, and consider meaningful change without shame or pressure.
