Through the therapy journey, I will support you. I will work with you to problem solve, seek healthy solutions, identify coping strategies, and find balance. Life is full of transitions and unexpected changes- I have experienced many myself. How wonderful it is to know that you do not have to go it alone. I believe in the counseling process! If you are willing to do the work and are comfortable with your provider, then therapy can be very effective. I would be honored to share your journey with you. Seeking help is a sign of strength and courage. I will strive to connect with you in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

I am deeply committed to empowering individuals to reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom. My approach is grounded in the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), which honors the inherent multiplicity within each person and recognizes that every part of us exists to protect and support our well-being—even when it may not feel that way.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. My approach to therapy is deeply relational, grounded in evidence-based practices that help clients repair and strengthen the relationships that matter most. My early clinical work was rooted in treating adolescents with complex trauma and high-risk sexual behaviors in a juvenile detention center—an experience that shaped my ability to connect with people regardless of their circumstances, behaviors, or life challenges. This ability remains one of my greatest strengths as I help clients heal in the context of their relationships.

I crafted PEACE Center, LLC. to serve neurodivergent children and families in the Auburn community. I use a team approach to better provide tailored interventions and a higher level of care. Though I use play and am trained for trauma and anxiety, my expertise is with neurodivergent children, adolescents, and very new adults and their supports -- especially those with Tics, OCD, ADHD, and Autism. My goal is to come alongside through affirming, creating allies, advocates, community, and connection to resources through the use of a variety of therapeutic interventions, intentional partnerships, research and training, groups, and more.

If those are some of your questions, give me a call. Let's talk it out together.

Typically, for OCD we use ERP.
We specialize in treating OCD and PTSD / Trauma, and are very good at bringing relief to people who feel like they are losing hope. Part of our strategy involves recognizing what else is going on - like Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, or Suicidal Thoughts - and folding that into your treatment plan. We firmly believe that everyone can be helped, no matter how severe or complex the case.

Life isn’t always a walk in the park. Especially when others are unable to relate to what you feel and experience. You want compassion. It's hard to be your true self around others for fear of judgment. Society wants you to fit into a nice little box and it makes it impossible to be who you are. You can be surrounded by family and loved ones who care about you and want the world for you, yet you feel so lonely and isolated. Sometimes it feels like no one understands you and never will. The pain may seem unbearable. You struggle with so many personal issues and just want someone who can relate to you with the experience to help.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists

Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?

Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?

Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?

While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?

The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
