Hello, I am Delia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker experienced in anxiety, depression, grief counseling and trauma. Above everything else, I believe that everybody, everywhere, deserves to live a happy and healthy life. A life beyond the grips of anxiety, tortures of depression, and trauma. A life full of productivity and filled with laughter. When this is not so, as often is the case in our lives, I am always driven by compassion to help the individual, whether a friend or a stranger, carry the burden. This is my passion and my life’s mission.

My practice primarily serves military veterans , service members, first responders, and other persons who are struggling with emotional, relational, and/or spiritual issues related to trauma, loss, and addiction. I rely heavily on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and other empirically supported approaches. I also believe that spirituality and/or religious faith can provide powerful sources of strength and suffering in the healing process. As such, I enjoy assuming a holistic approach according to my clients' core beliefs/values in a manner that ultimately leads to greater meaning, purpose, and belonging in life.

I have 21.5 years total clinical psychology experience working with children to older adults. I have worked in a military outpatient setting as a mental health provider for 10.5 years, half of that time as an active duty officer, and have received annual training in police psychology for 7 years. I conduct therapy from a multicultural perspective, and operate from a perspective of mind, body, and spirit as commensurate with the client's values.

As a Veteran in long-term recovery myself, I offer clients a unique perspective of a lived experience. Our clinic offers Veterans , First Responders, their families and caregivers complete physical and mental wellness services. We actively promote a culture-of-health in our clinic and through community outreach. We regularly evaluate our effectiveness for providing Trauma-Informed Care. Our multi-disciplined clinical team includes physicians, physician assistants, psychologists, social workers, counselors, physical therapists, occupational therapists and certified peer support specialists.

The Dallas Maryland Wellness Group, LLC is an organization that assists individuals, families, and groups with achieving personal balance employing the Six Dimensions of Wellness as the road map. We are the travel guides to personal exploration and discovery. Clients are encouraged to collect various souvenirs for use in life upon their return journey home. Clients may select as many, or as few, souvenirs along the journey. We suggest that Clients collect a few things that they want, and everything that they need. This quote speaks quite loudly to me because upon reflection, I find that Life has a way of interfering when I am busy doing something else. I have spent the better part of 25 years learning who I am and have willingly and sometimes unwillingly faced harsh realities I would not chose for anyone, much less myself. One of the most important things that has proven to be true for me, is that if I can find meaning in events that shattered my world or at the very least, shook it up, then my understanding and insight increased and I could find peace.

Lacey has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2009, and is a Counseling Supervisor with the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling of the State of Alabama. She received her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Lacey is a Master’s Addiction Counselor through NADDAC, currently a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. In her counseling practice, she approaches therapy with her clients from a holistic standpoint, helping them identify their needs which relate to their emotional, psychological and relational health.
