I specialize in working with adolescents and families who have experienced trauma. I have been trained in child-centered play therapy including sand tray therapy. My counseling style is an eclectic approach blending Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play therapy, and Client-Centered therapy. I also have advocacy experience in helping families locate and utilize resources necessary for helping them get back on their feet after experiencing trauma.

When people have experienced trauma, losses, stressors, and difficulties in relationships, they sometimes struggle to find hope. When relationships with friends, children & family are confusing and challenging, many feel isolated. You may judge yourself harshly instead of practicing self-compassion, leading to feelings of low self-esteem. In addition to meeting the needs of people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and family conflict, members of the adoption triad will find a safe space here to explore their story and prepare to meet the unique needs that encompass adoption.

I Love working with children and families because I feel that the family is so important in the development of children. Helping kids to have a better home life or helping improve their transition during a divorce, a recent move, or a new school environment is an important part of my practice. I also enjoy working with adults to help them achieve their best life. Hi, I’m a licensed therapist committed to working with individuals, couples, and families. My work focuses on treating those affected by anxiety, trauma, addiction, and day-to-day stressors. Additionally, I hold great interest in treating children with emotional or behavioral issues, adults struggling with life transitions, substance abuse, and Marital compromise. I believe the biggest part of my job is to provide a safe space for you to share about yourself and what you’re experiencing. As a therapist who specializes in whole-person wellness, trauma recovery, & perinatal mental health, I enjoy working with women & men who have experienced anxiety, depression, major life transitions, and/or trauma. I am a certified clinical trauma specialist with advanced training in the area of sexual trauma. I am also a certified perinatal mental health specialist through Postpartum Support International, & I am especially passionate about birth trauma and navigating the perinatal journey as a survivor of previous trauma. I am a firm believer that we all make sense in the context of what we've walked through.
