Life can be a bumpy road. The path we take can lead us to happiness or to despair. Making a wrong turn, not knowing which way to go or reaching what seems like a dead end is not the end of your journey. Sometimes we all need help getting to where we want to be. As a therapist, I believe connection brings about healing. Because people are so unique, I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather, I enter the counseling relationship authentically and meet my client where they are. From a practical standpoint, I enjoy helping people identify their attachment styles and how they approach the world and the people around them. I often incorporate techniques from ACT, CBT, and Positive Psychology, as I’m ultimately about empowering my clients to have the tools to live a healthy and thriving life.

As a mom of twins, I know how challenging parenting can be. Bailey Kennon received her Master of Arts from Liberty University in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling and is currently in clinical supervision under Jennifer Moseley, LPC-S. Bailey is also pursuing a Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling with a specialization in traumatology. She is from Orange Beach, AL, but she and her husband moved to Mobile in Spring 2022 as he is a Student Pastor in the area. She enjoys spending one-on-one time with folks and providing a safe space to process emotions and experiences. Bailey also has a special sidekick, Biscuit the therapy pup, who accompanies her to work most days!

My name is LaWana Kennedy. I am a Professional Counselor and Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider licensed in the state of Alabama. I am endorsed by First 5 Alabama as an Early Childhood Mental Health Family Specialist. I have over 20 years in the Behavioral Health Field -specifically working with children and families who have experienced trauma from neglect, and sexual and physical abuse. I also have experience working with the adult substance use population in an outpatient setting. My goal is to help you utilize the strengths you already have to navigate through the obstacles and stressors of life.

The clients that I typically encounter are looking to make a change that will create a better life environment for themselves and those that love them. They want to do something different and are open and willing to explore the uncomfortable to grow in the therapeutic process. I want clients to trust that they can be whoever the need to be in a session.

As a therapist I desire to help people move from a life of pain and suffering to a life that is happy, healthy and fulfilling. My goal in counseling is to help people overcome their difficult issues in their life, reach their goals, and become happier and more balanced individuals. I use a variety of therapies including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and prevention approaches to help the patient individually.
