Life can be a bumpy road. The path we take can lead us to happiness or to despair. Making a wrong turn, not knowing which way to go or reaching what seems like a dead end is not the end of your journey. Sometimes we all need help getting to where we want to be. As a counselor, I help make your journey a more positive one. Grief and loss can stop you in your tracks and hinder you from moving forward. The loss of a loved one, job, relationship, pregnancies or even your life before illness or change can cause feelings of grief. Counseling helps work through the pain of your loss to experience joy again. A life you want is within reach.

I have 5+ years assisting individuals in working through issues such as substance
abuse
, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management as well as other life issues.
I believe the therapy process involves forming a relationship with someone who you can share your innermost thoughts and struggles with. Everyone should be able to share their problems with a trusted individual in an environment that is safe and free from judgement. I provide my clients with an environment free from judgement where you can let your guard down and just be you. Admitting that you need help doesn’t mean something is wrong with you, it means you are ready to grow and better understand yourself.

They are fundamentally linked to many problems, including PTSD, depression, substance
abuse
, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Kline's practice provides a compassionate, relaxed, and informal, environment where people in emotional pain can focus on getting better without fear of judgment. With experience and expertise spanning cognitive, behavioral, emotional, neurophysiological, and sociocultural levels of analysis, he provides an integrative, individualized, non-pharmacological approach to treating mental illness. If you are already taking medication, psychotherapy can help make it more effective. He believes that a diagnosis can help inform treatment, but does not define you. Diagnostic categories often don't entirely fit a given individual, so treatment needs to reflect individual goals and needs.

“Dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening. . ."Mark Twain. This quote illustrates the kind of practice I strive to create. I believe it is necessary to encourage clients to feel free from judgment, criticism, or fear from what someone else thinks. My goal is to provide a safe place using an eclectic approach involving person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. This allows clients to establish a course that is personally tailored to meet the needs of those with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I've been serving this community as a fully certified EMDR trauma therapist for over 13 years, and I am here to help you grow, heal, and change. I like to understand your story and life experiences that have led you to the place you are in at this moment, so that we can unroot some belief systems that have held you back from your full potential. Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.
When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.
What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.
How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
