I work with adults with anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, abuse issues (emotional, physical, sexual), military issues (deployment/family reunification), personal growth, attachment styles, d/Deaf culture issues, cultural & spiritual concerns, and career counseling (work-life balance)!.
Do you find yourself feeling mentally or emotionally overwhelmed? Are you going through a life change that has you wondering what "normal" even means anymore? Have you felt missed (unseen/unheard), lonely, disposable, or unwanted by others (or yourself)? Are you struggling with self-worth, personal identity, and meaning-making? Are you having difficulty navigating the pressures that come with cultivating healthy-wholehearted relationships? What would it be like to feel yourself authentically as well as a genuine connection with others? When you envision your best life, what would you need to change to make that your reality?

I Love working with children and families because I feel that the family is so important in the development of children. Helping kids to have a better home life or helping improve their transition during a divorce, a recent move, or a new school environment is an important part of my practice. I also enjoy working with adults to help them achieve their best life. I use an eclectic approach that includes: child-centered play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and client centered therapy. I also enjoy helping clients to find their own strengths and ways to utilize those strengths to have their best life

As a Marriage & Family Therapist with 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, college students, adults , and families I approach your concerns from a wide lens perspective.
Are you feeling out of control in your mind and body in response to the daily pressures, tasks, and demands of being a woman in a high-stress workplace? Maybe you’ve recently graduated and entered the workforce, or you’re a new mother and juggling it all seems incredibly overwhelming. You keep it all together professionally, or for your family and everyone else around you, but underneath the surface you are overwhelmed, tired, and burnt out. You recognize that sometimes overachievement and perfectionism hide intense anxiety and hopelessness. It feels as though you will never escape the cycle and find a retreat.

Since 2002 I have had the privilege of providing both direct and indirect mental healthcare to youths, adults , and families in my local community and surrounding areas. Although life experiences and observations of such has been my primary educator, I attribute my education and training, as well as positions at various for and non-profit agencies to assisting me with honing my therapeutic skills in helping clients identify and rediscover their distinctive strengths to develop new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating to others to achieve a better quality of living and relationships.

How can I find a therapist in Mobile?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the United States, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
