Life inevitably will present challenges and along with them, opportunities for personal growth. As a therapist, I assist individuals in locating their internal compass, so that they can better navigate through life's obstacles. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgemental environment, where I work collaboratively with the client to discover their strengths, along with what may be holding them back from achieving their full emotional and interpersonal potential. Through this therapeutic process, clients can gain insight and move forward in new and more fulfilling ways.

Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to check out Welcome Home Wellness - where my primary focus is on you. I believe it is a privilege to help people feeling confused, frustrated, anxious, depressed, or lost in life. I do not take the level of trust and vulnerability it takes to allow someone into your personal life for granted. Creating a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental, and nurturing space where you can heal and grow is what I hope to achieve together. It takes strength and courage to ask for help, and I find it an honor to offer support or a referral to help you navigate your way.

Reaching out for help is hard. As your therapist, my goal is to help you walk through what comes after asking for help. One of the most important parts of being a therapist is creating a safe space for you to share your story. I honor the courage it takes in being vulnerable and make every effort to create a space where you can feel encouraged to share.

Have you been told you have PTSD? Or, do you have anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or negative self-talk that all started with a traumatic event(s)? If so, you have come to the right place. People with trauma often find themselves spending countless hours in therapy but not getting lasting relief. That is because not every therapist is specially trained to treat trauma, and not every therapy intervention is able to access the part of the brain where traumatic memories live.

I believe that we're all born with enormous potential! That said, sometimes situations occur in our lives which directly or indirectly impact the pace at which we may reach that potential. When we're able to identify at what point we stopped being an author in our lives, we can go back, pick up the pen, and begin re-writing our stories. I regularly serve therapists, first responders, bariatric clients, individuals with perinatal struggles, couples/poly, and individuals struggling with stress/adjustments, anxiety/OCD, and/or depression. Therapists: I also offer supervision/consultation services and welcome a meeting to determine fit

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
