I believe in the power of helping clients change their thoughts in order to change their behaviors. Clients need ways to improve their lives and accomplish the things they want to do, and counseling/therapy achieves that. It is my goal as a clinician to allow clients to see and appreciate their progress instead of aiming for perfection.

For the past 7 years I have helped women and young adults struggling with anxiety, stress, and relationships by increasing insight, exploring underlying issues and giving you tangible skills to use outside of sessions to help make life feel more manageable.
ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS! It's tough being a human sometimes. If overthinking was a sport, you'd always win first place. Those first place medals would include: predicting the future, thinking about the worst possible outcomes, or having to be in control of every aspect of your life. Maybe you're just not feeling that "self love" people go on about, but want to be able to show yourself the love and compassion you deserve. Maybe you just need someone to process life with who isn't your best friend. Because let's face it, life can be hard! I want you to know, I can help and things can get better!

Lotus Counseling Services started with a vision and a passion to help girls develop into strong, confident, fearless, healthy women . The lotus flower grows from deep mud, through murky water, to produce a beautiful blossom; the more adversity the more beautiful a transformation. My role as a counselor is to provide support and guidance along that journey. Everyone is an individual and therefore there is no one approach that works for everyone. I pride myself on being genuine with my clients and utilizing counseling methods that are most effective for her as an individual.

I am an Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor I have worked with women and adolescent survivors of abusive relationships(physical(sexual), emotional, mental).
It has been said that: "God uses our deepest pain as a launchpad for our highest calling". However, a lot of the times we become immobilized by the pains we have endured. My goal in counseling is to remind believers and non-believers that there is hope past the pain, shame, and doubt they are experiencing; through modalities of individual, couples, family and pre-marital counseling.Do not let shame and doubt rule over you any longer but instead gain insight and authenticity as you understand your Creator, your process and yourself more fully.

My special interest involves working with Women ages 19 and older who have been diagnosed with health concerns and/or chronic pain related to anxiety/depression/trauma.
Has a recent diagnosis, overwhelming event, or unresolved past trauma keeping you in survival mode? Did you know that physical pain and emotional pain are not separate experiences to the brain? So it is not surprising that chronic pain is often associated with emotional changes. My aspiration is to provide options such as EMDR therapy and Micro neurofeedback to assist in your journey of healing. My goal is to give Education, Hope, and Empowerment in order to create sustainability and purpose in your life.

Are you struggling with stress and anxiety? As women , we face a lot of complex issues. The pressure of wearing so many hats at once can feel overwhelming. You might be feeling like no one understands or has the time to listen to you. You are used to keeping it all inside and managing on your own, but it's not working anymore. You want to find peace and relief from the things that are keeping you from enjoying life. You deserve care that is compassionate and empowering. You don't have to manage all of these emotions by yourself anymore.

Dear SUPER Woman , Life is like strands of Christmas lights thrown in a box, a tangled mess that needs to be sorted. However, if you hold one end and I hold one end, we can sort them out much quicker. THAT is counseling! I believe that everyone gets to a place in life where friends and family are too close to help. Counseling is the place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a confidential, nonjudgmental, safe place. Together, you and I will build a healthy therapeutic relationship, where I will help you discover more about yourself and your patterns of behavior.

My experience includes working with children, parents, teenagers, blended families and women .
There is no better time than the present to make changes. Are you tired of not making the most of your life? Is parenting, life changes, stress, or negativity making life harder? I sincerely believe that people want to make positive changes in their lives but often times do not know where to start or how to remain consistent with those changes. I enjoy working with clients that are motivated to change. Because some people may be apprehensive about starting counseling, I work to create an atmosphere that is non-judgmental. In addition, I strive to build a partnership with the client as we work toward the same goals.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
