My name is Akilah Briscoe and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults, children, and families; to help them cope with anxiety, trauma, and make new adjustments. I use Narrative therapy, solution-focused, and trauma-informed interventions to help clients meet their goals.
My clinical approach is often eclectic since I usually have a multicultural client base with generational trauma. When the focus is on anxiety or maladaptive behaviors I use a combination of solution-focused and narrative therapy interventions.
I like to create a treatment plan in partnership with my client; identifying their priorities according to their mental and/or emotional well being. I believe it’s important to revisit the goals during each session.
