Psychotherapy is a space to make meaning of your unique life experiences and explore—with a collaborative listener, a thought partner—how you can live differently. A compassionate and deep understanding of self allows you to live fuller and more satisfying lives, not bound by old patterns. My goal is to help you understand how your mind works, digest difficult experiences, and develop the capacity to build and maintain enriching relationships with others and yourself. We will be listening to your mind and body in depth, including aspects that are not readily available to us. Understanding your mind in this way can be transformative.
My specialty is working with people with anxiety, depression, and a history of interpersonal trauma. I often work with graduate and college students, other adults with various professions, and those exploring the impact of gender and race on their experience. I use the relational psychoanalytic approach, a collaborative style of psychodynamic psychotherapy.
Although my personal life experience is not a sufficient qualification for understanding each unique BIPOC experience, I am often sought out by persons of color and those of Asian descent, as well as those who had disappointing experiences with prior therapy. The experience of living between cultures and languages is of particular interest to me.
