What does the shape of our lives reveal about our ideologies and our narrative of reality? How does psychotherapy help us examine this? The analytic space is dedicated to moving beyond the pressures of institutions and societal constraints that preexist us in order to seek the particular desires and needs in each of us. In treatment, we confront ourselves and our unique experience of the world so that we can explore possibilities for transformation. I am attuned to how one’s suffering may intersect with intimate relationships, inherited traumas, and systemic oppression. I welcome patients from diverse and non-normative backgrounds.
Informed by the arts, I am interested in how aesthetic experience and poetic dimensions of language can be explored with patients. I specialize in working with patients who live with anxiety, melancholia, and alienation related to diasporic or immigrant experiences. My research considers how non-Western ways of being can inform the psychoanalytic process.
I am sensitive to how questions around race, class, sexuality, and gender show up in patients' lives and in treatment. I listen without judgment and encourage you to speak freely so that you can hear your own desires. We will work collaboratively to make meaning out of aspects of your life that feel conflicting, confusing, or overwhelming.
