Most of us go through difficult periods in our lives where we feel overwhelmed, alone, and confused. Sometimes, inevitable events in life, even happy ones, like starting a relationship, going off to college, or retirement, expose the wounds and memories from a recent or distant past that make the current situation painful and unbearable. While we survive those situations and adapt to the new realities of our circumstances, psychotherapy, specifically psychodynamic psychotherapy uses these moments as opportunities for a path for self-discovery and a chance to reevaluate our priorities and find meaning and purpose in our lives.
With over twenty years of experience, I have come to appreciate and recognize the unique life story and circumstances of each patient. I work with my patients to find the solution that best works for them. I provide my patients with a safe and supportive space to help address the symptoms of emotional pains and sufferings that go with them.
I enjoy working with people on a myriad of issues that come up in life, phase of life, relationship issues, grief and loss, parenting, struggles with sexuality and sexual identity, and the obstacles that are in the way of an unfulfilled life. I also have an extensive background in working with patients from a wide range of racial and cultural backgrounds.

I enjoy teaching, supervising, and mentoring mental health professionals of the next generation as well as those clinicians who seek consultation for their professional development. As an associate clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UC Irvine School of Medicine, training and supervising analyst at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute, and a member of the New Center for Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, I have had the opportunity of training and supervising mental health professionals in the United States, Europe, China, and Iran. I offer in-person and virtual supervision and study groups for psychotherapists and psychiatrists.
