Dialectical Skills Training
Dialectics is the synthesis of opposites, and how what may appear to be opposites can coexist. This treatment was first coined by Marsha Linehan a clinical psychologist in 1993. This treatment has gained world wide acclaim as one of the most effective evidence based treatments. DBT is used in the treatment in a multiple conditions including Depression, PTSD, Mood, ADHD, Addiction, Eating Disorders, and Personality. The core philosophy is based upon Acceptance and Change. In practice many clients will come to learn that they can accept that they are doing their best and that they can do better.
