During my forty plus years working in psychiatric hospitals, leading residential treatment programs, teaching relationship courses for couples and presenting Mind, Body and Spirit healing seminars, helping others heal the core of their issue is my passion. I specialize in trauma-informed treatment & psycho-analytical therapy with adults in transition/change, mental health disturbance & past or current trauma. My practice includes counseling young & older adults, couples with marriage stress, anger management, substance abuse & recovery, women and men leaving domestic violence situations, LGBTQ, and those living with personal challenges where they find themselves ‘stuck’ in ideas and behaviors that no longer work for them. Approaches include Analytical Psychology, Narrative and CBT, MI, Feminist Therapy, Multi-Culturalism, Trauma-Informed Treatment & somatic healing.

I have worked in the field of Mental Health Counseling for over 20 years and have extensive experience working with adults, families, adolescents and children. I received much of my clinical training and experience working in inpatient hospital, residential treatment and outpatient treatment settings. During that time I held a variety of professional positions, received quality supervision and completed my Masters Degree in Community Counseling.

As a therapist, I can understand the anxiety and fear surrounding your decision to seek therapy for yourself. I would like to partner with you as you navigate your world. As a therapist, I provide an eclectic approach to counseling, with a belief that in order to understand the present, one must understand his or her past. I operate from a strengths-based perspective because I believe both children and adults are resilient and given the right tools, can solve their own problems.

My passion is working with children, adolescents, adults, ​and couples to meet the challenges they may be experiencing such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, anger management, addiction, self-esteem issues or perhaps spiritual emptiness. One of my goals is to shed light on the issues that you are currently experiencing, noticing the internal roots of conflict, and finding ways to make meaningful and purposeful shifts in your life. My treatment approach is integrative, and following an assessment of the individual needs of my client determines which modalities I utilize.

Having extensive experience and clinical supervision with adolescent and adults in various health settings, I have come to appreciate the uniqueness of each person and the journey they are on to wellness. I am non-judgmental and don't feel it is necessary to shame or parent those I work with. In addition to being a psychologist, I am also a college professor, working with students pursuing master and doctorate degrees and a clinical supervisor. I also offer the MARI(Mandala Assessment Research Instrument), a powerful tool to help clients understand,explore and expand consciousnessl.
