My approach to counseling acknowledges that treatment is as varied as humans are. Therapy focuses on the person’s goals and development, not the counselor’s desires for them. I am deeply compassionate, non-judgmental, and believe that the most effective therapy is truly collaborative between client and clinician.I work with clients across the lifespan but have most experience with children-middle aged adults. I work with individuals as well as couples and families, and am open to clients with “non-traditional” family styles such as chosen families and non-monogamous relationships with or without children.

As an interactive, solution-focused psychotherapist, my approach is to provide support and practical feedback to address life challenges and long-standing issues. I offer a personalized approach tailored to each client's needs to help attain the personal growth they strive to attain. I have worked with clients learning to manage feelings of depression, anxiety and dealing with problems of relationship difficulties. I have counseled individuals overcoming substance abuse and sexual addiction issues. Additionally I have worked extensively with GLBTQ adolescents and adults in individual, couples and family psychotherapy.

I am an addiction specialist treating compulsive behaviors for the last ten years. I have helped people struggling with substance, food, gambling and compulsive sexual behaviors. I am a licensed clinical social worker and a certified sexual addiction therapist. With this experience I have specialized in developing techniques to support the parents and partners in relationship with those in active addiction. There is a reason addiction is our number one public health issue and the sooner people intervene on themselves or others the sooner recovery begins.

For over 30 years, I have trained and counseled therapists, health professionals, individuals and couples to address healthy sexuality in an open and honest way. As a certified sex educator through AASECT, I bring a psycho-educational focus to work collaboratively with you to find your path to sexual health. You have the wisdom and knowledge of your sexual wants, desires and needs. I will help you communicate those wants with clarity, focus and comfort. I provide that comfortable environment to address how anxiety, past trauma, body image, shame or negative sexual messaging may impact your relationships and sexual comfort.
