Jackie has experience working with a wide range of issues including ADHD, OCD, sadness, low self esteem, traumatic abuse, relationship issues, grief/loss and womens issues. Jackie is Nationally Certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and uses an empathetic, cognitive behavioral approach.

I bring considerable expertise in evidence-based practices – techniques that we know work, based on decades of research – while treating YOU as the expert on your life and experiences. We work as a team to clarify what matters most to you, identify the obstacles getting in your way, and develop the skills you need to overcome them. Beyond alleviating psychological suffering and pain, my goal is to empower clients to build rich, meaningful lives and relationships.

I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults in identifying strengths and coping strategies to overcome obstacles at school, home, or work. I provide counseling for children and teenagers experiencing oppositional, depressive, anxious, and hyper behaviors , as well as counseling for families and couples experiencing communication difficulties. I am experienced in working with those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as children and teens displaying cognitive disabilities. Additionally, I provide group and individual counseling to juvenile and adult clients who have experienced or committed sexual trauma.

My passion is to help others with their life stressors. I work with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with children who have ADHD, Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, and Depression. With adults, I am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, disabilities, and life transitions.

I have primarily worked with children, adolescents, and their families for the past 20 years in mental health, residential and school settings. Prior to that, I worked for a domestic violence, rape crisis, and child abuse center where I worked with survivors and their families in various capacities, including group and individual counseling, crisis intervention, and victim advocacy. This has provided a great deal of experience working with trauma and related issues, such as depression and anxiety in adults and children. It also has given me the opportunity to see families grow and make positive changes in their lives after adversity

At the Counseling Center of Florence, LLC, we believe in our client's ability to overcome their personal issues and see all issues as problems our clients have tried to solve on their own and have not yet been successful. Our goal is to improve success toward solving the problems and issues our client's face with evidence-based practices oriented to each client's specific need. Shynekia Garner is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of South Carolina with nearly 10 years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship, medical, and substance abuse issues. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in English from the University of South Carolina Upstate and received her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse College.
