In a society that prioritizes productivity over mental health, it is to be expected that at some point we might feel disconnected from our lives, values, and relationships. We can become distracted by the “goal” of avoiding uncomfortable emotions rather than making space for all emotional experiences. In a purposeful and meaningful life, suffering is inevitable. There will be fear, loss, and sadness but also, peace, joy, and contentment. Part of being human means we have the capacity for feeling all of the emotions and when we make space for them, we can learn how to stay present and connected with our values and our journey.

I approach therapy with a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective that prioritizes the therapeutic relationship. I use a range of evidenced based therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, DBT skills in addition to mindfulness, grounding, education, and self-compassion strategies.

I challenge clients to recognize their strength and resilience while identifying barriers to goals and embracing fears. My role is to empower clients to build a fulfilling and value-based life. I am honored to witness my clients gain the insight that anxiety, depression, fear, etc. does not define them, nor does it get to dictate how they live their lives.
