I believe that the work of therapy needs to be done in an atmosphere of safety, intelligence, warmth and humor. Therapy is often hard work because it takes so much commitment for us to look at ourselves objectively and work through challenging issues in our lives. Sometimes we come to therapy because there is a specific situation that we need immediate and/or brief assistance with or for an objective voice of reason. Sometimes we come to therapy because there have been challenges over time that have gotten in our way of getting what we want out of our lives.

I am a psychotherapist and Jungian psychoanalyst in private practice for over 30 years. I work with adults who are struggling with any of the following issues; life transitions, depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma and or losses. My orientation is to view psychological problems as an opportunity to further one's self knowledge, to master obstacles, to grow and to heal wounds. There are many events that send us looking for answers in therapy. Some need information to address a new situation, some feel blocked from doing what they desire, some feel pushed to do things they don't want to do, some feel prevented from doing something they know would benefit them. We all struggle, no one's life is perfect. It's what we make of our circumstances that make us who we are. We isolate our "Genuine Self" then work towards defining the "Desired Self", that part of self that is capable of maintaining happiness. By increasing our awareness we can reach any goal, embracing change as we evolve.
