I believe helping clients understand their problems through education and knowledge of the issues enhances the clients ablity to make informed, decisions about what to do regarding the issues they are struggling with. Whether it's helping clients change their faulty beliefs about themselves and teach them skills to attain their goals, or helping a marriage survive the chronic stress of living with a child diagnosed with a chronic physical or mental disorder, I am there to support and encourage my clients to reach their goals and "See the forest for the trees!"

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor and a certified school counselor with many years of experience working with children, adolescents, parents, and young adults using an evidence-based approach. Areas of expertise include anxiety and mood disorders, chronic illness adjustment, pain management, and medical non-adherence. My practice includes individual therapy and group therapy. I work with individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, stress from daily life, depression, and difficulties within relationships. My approach is warm, compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive.

I became a therapist to assist individuals navigate different stressors and transitions in a healthy way. But what I desired more than anything was to create a safe space and represent those who resemble me. As a psychotherapist, I aim to treat pre-teens, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, low self esteem, difficult life transitions, grief and other life challenges. I take an eclectic approach to my therapeutic practice to ensure the needs of all clients are met, both personally and culturally.
