Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Relationship/Sexual Issues, Pornography, Anger, Life Changes, Career, LGBTQ+ Issues, and Faith/Spirituality are issues I often address. My approach is practical and nonjudgmental, primarily from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Reality/Choice perspectives. I help clients recognize that they do not have to be victims of their circumstances or history. Sometimes we are faced with painful circumstances. Sometimes even everyday life begins to feel overwhelming. The unfortunate reality is that we cannot always control what happens in our lives. We can, however, choose how we respond to the difficult things that occur. I believe that all of us have the ability to grow and to make positive, lasting change in our lives. My role as therapist is to help facilitate this process.

Sometimes life throws us lemons, and prioritizing our self-care and mental health helps us cope! I enjoy supporting others through individual and group therapy, parent coaching, and comprehensive evaluations. For individual therapy I work with both male and female clients, ages 7 through college, and parents. My therapeutic approach incorporates Positive Psychology (e.g., compassion, gratitude, mindfulness, and resilience to stress), as well as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other forms of treatment.

Meet Tinkerbell, my 5 lb. Maltese and Hunter, my 115 lb. German Shepherd. I grew up on a farm and animals are incredibly important to me. They teach us so much about ourselves and have the capacity to unconditionally love us and at times, they can really challenge us. That's what therapy is all about - unconditional positive regard and pushing us to be our best selves. I work with females; ages pre-teens to adulthood and their families. Anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm behaviors, relational issues, and emotional challenges are among my specialties. I love helping those find their purpose, path, and inspiration!

I have over 11 years experience in substance use recovery. I began working in the addiction/recovery field over 8 1/2 years ago. I have helped many individuals with life skills and walked with them as they made positive changes in their recovering life. Including exploring hobbies, interests and learning how to laugh and smile again. While also working with them on how to build support in their community. Ultimately creating space for these moving parts to come together and form a sustainable recovery lifestyle.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist- Associate in the state of NC. My work helps people with various mental and behavioral health concerns (e.g., depression, anxiety, co- occurring disorders, etc.) cope better with their experiences and/or make changes to improve their health and thinking. I also more generally work with people on improving stress, improving interpersonal skills/relationships, increasing motivation for change, and increasing self- awareness. I believe in the importance and impact of intersectional identity (race/gender/class) and use a multicultural approach to therapy.
