My goal as a therapist is to help you learn new ways of coping with challenging situations, replace unhealthy patterns/ habits and heal from past experiences. My focus is working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and unresolved trauma.

When I think of myself as a Counselor, I envision providing unconditional positive regard and "Good Old Fashion" Southern Louisiana Hospitality to clients. Based on the client's individualized needs, I practice the eclectic approach to guide them through the healing process.

We have all faced mounting moments of adversity, trauma, and tragedy. Those moments can cause one to feel rejected, overwhelmed, and hopeless. The stressors of life can cause you to feel like it is too difficult to continue. However, difficult does not mean impossible.

Let's face it - everyone needs a little help getting through this journey called life. If you have felt this way at one point or another, you are not alone. Counseling is the place where you can get real about yourself and what's going on in your life without judgment or bias. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to fully explore and accept themselves. With a solid counselor-client relationship based on empathy, trust, and understanding, we can collaborate together to identify your strengths as well as explore concerns, challenges and areas for growth.

I take an eclectic approach and use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral, Reality Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution Focused, Reality Based, and psycho-education to individuals age 5 and up. My theory is that when people have hope and can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes, people are free to experience change.

The teen years offer significant challenges for children and parents alike. Children are faced with increasing social and academic demands while facing tough choices and greater responsibilities. Raging hormones and strained relationships do not make it any easier! Parents often feel frustrated and exhausted trying to help their child reach his or her full potential. Many times, the parent/child relationship becomes marked by fighting and power struggles. Parents and teens facing difficulty may find teen counseling effective and helpful. Finding a teen therapist specifically trained and experienced working with adolescents frequently provides the greatest benefit.

Sometimes life is big and sometimes it's bigger than it has to be. Each of us face unexpected and unavoidable circumstances. Each of us run the risk of allowing small matters to build up into big frustrations.

With 10+ years of experience, I work with clients with a variety of mental health needs. I work with children as young as 3 in play-based therapy, addressing anxiety, behavioral issues, parenting needs and familial transitions. I also work with couples exploring pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, separation/divorce or co-parenting. I work with teens struggling with anxiety or depression as they navigate the realms of social media and pressures of GenZ. I also see many adult clients 1:1 who just need extra support in this season of life: whether from work stressors or family conflict or just wanting better mental wellness.
